AmpleForth , Wath and Byland Abbey… not recommended
Tricky route obviously the first part isn’t walked that often.. Not the easiest to follow .. cow and calves charging around , redirected paths and a number of difficult stiles for dogs..

Abbortsford House and Cauldshiels loch loop
A route along the Tweed and through the Woodland estate of Abbotsford House the home of Sir Walter Scott . Parking for a small fee at Abbotsford House

Boulmer to Alnmouth loop
A lovely route between the two villages … facilities at either end . Parking in Boulmer is now chargeable… it’s busy at the moment but off season is fairly easy to find roadside parking In either village .

Walking from our door before we leave I found this short route . Great views , wild flowers and of course. castle and coffee shop..
