When looking for the source of the Alster, one comes through this beautiful moor landscape. :)

Beautiful path through the Lütt-Wittmoor near Rehn.
The Lütt-Wittmoor east of Rhen is a nature reserve. In the north the nature reserve borders on the "Oberalsterniederung" and forms with it a biotope network. The Lütt-Wittmoor is a former raised bog that only exists in parts. Some of it is watered again. The surrounding forests are semi-natural deciduous forests. There are many birch trees near the moor.
The nature reserve is the habitat of species-rich and partly threatened flora and fauna. The still waters and their surroundings are habitats for amphibians, including the moor frog and common toad, reptiles such as grass snake, adder and sand lizard, and dragonflies. The meadows and grassland are of great importance for various meadow birds such as the lapwing, the double-tailed cock, the corncrake and the curlew, but also other bird species, including the crane, barn owl, quail, whinchat and red-backed shrike.

Beautiful NSG. I only met two people on the whole tour. The silence is interrupted only by the starting planes.
