The Alsterquellmoor lies on the edge of Henstedt-Rhen and is part of the NSG Oberalsterniederung. The third largest NSG in Schleswig-Holstein. Like the Schlappenmoor and Wakendorfer Moor, it was used for peat extraction and later converted into grassland in parts. As the name suggests, the Alster spring rises here. Various hiking trails lead through the Alsterquellmoor and the NSG.
