Rüttele water treading, Hub / Tosters
In the 19th century, Hub had its own water supply with springs and water collection facilities in the Rüttelewald. After the Hubner households were connected to the central Feldkirch water supply, all of these facilities lay idle.
In the mid-1990s, the Tosters agricultural community initiated considerations about giving the existing facilities a meaningful revival. In 1997, these plans became more concrete and the Hub guild was asked by the Tosters agricultural community to implement the project of a water treading facility in the Rüttelewald. The energetic team under the then master chef Wolfgang Mayer and the project management of Markus Dejaco gladly accepted the challenge. Excavation work began on May 6, 1998. Between May 1998 and May 1999, the “Wassertrete Rüttele” project – the costs were entirely covered by the Funkenzunft from club funds – was implemented in around 35 work sessions, totaling around 700 hours of work. Great attention was paid to a particularly harmonious, landscape-friendly and natural design.
On May 30, 1999, the newly constructed gem was dedicated to its intended purpose during a mass celebrated by Pastor Elmar Simma and with great participation from the Hubner population.
Since its opening, the idyllically located facility has enjoyed great popularity with many hikers and walkers who use the path from St. Corneli to Hub.
Special thanks go to Mrs. Margit Zerlauth and our unforgettable founding member Dietmar Mayer (1932 - 2010) who, through their commitment and visionary guidelines, contributed significantly to the realization of the "Wassertrete Rüttele" project.

Kneipp instructions Rüttele, Hub / Tosters
The prerequisite for the cold water application is a warm body. Never tread water with cold feet. Warm yourself up beforehand with gymnastics or running.
      Technique:
The arm bath and the water treading pool should not be used immediately one after the other, as the two applications counteract each other. Therefore, allow 2 hours to pass between them.
For the arm bath, immerse both arms deeply until a strong cold sensation (tingling or pulling in the arm) occurs after a maximum of 30 seconds. Then simply shake off the water and move the arms until they are completely dry (arm circles, etc.).
When treading water, lift your feet out of the water with each step (“stork walk”). Only stay in the water until a strong cold sensation occurs in the legs (max. 1 minute). Then shake off the water and warm up again.
Be careful if you have blisters or kidney problems.
      Effect
stimulates circulation, promotes blood flow, strengthens veins, stimulates metabolism, hardens, vegetatively stabilizing.
