The Henrichshütte is a great destination. There is a “rat path” for kids that explains how the hut worked and it is also interesting for the grown-ups. The highlight is of course the well-preserved blast furnace, which you can climb up to the top. Tip: Check out the hut's calendar of events beforehand:
lwl.org/industriemuseum/standorte/henrichshuette-hattingen. There are always special events.
