The short detour from the Elmsteiner valley for a few meters more is worth it. You drive on a well-paved narrow road through a very quiet valley. If you are looking for a low-traffic street and a refreshment stop, you can stop by the Naturfreundehaus Elmstein - Harzofen or in the Wolfsschluchthütte on the section of the route. An additional 210 - 260 vertical meters are to be handled.
The section with its many curves is a good alternative to the traditional valley road along Speyerbach.
