The tower was destroyed by fire in 1651 and was only rebuilt after 1719. It was renovated in 1854. A comprehensive renovation of the church building was carried out around 1900. During the Second World War, the church was destroyed except for the surrounding walls in 1944. The nave and the choir were restored to their old form by 1955.
