Between the railway and Marialoopbeek you walk on the route of the former railway line 73A towards Meulebeke. This railway line has not existed since 1953, but it was only in 2016 that the city of Tielt and the NMBS concluded an agreement on opening this strip as a walking (and cycling) path, with the intention of eventually extending it to Tielt station. At the moment it is still an unpaved path, aimed at walkers and not so much at cyclists.
