This stately and arguably most beautiful half-timbered house in Calw was built in 1694, two years after the devastating town fire. The craftsmanship testifies to the high level of skill of the carpenters, but also to the wealth of its builder, Johann Jakob Schill. He owed his prosperity to his family's membership in the Calw Armory Company.
