The Protestant Church of St. Bartholomew stands on a hill in the middle of Rödinghausen, visible from afar. The single-nave church, which is essentially late Gothic, dates from 1520; the west tower is considerably older. The church received its current appearance with the extensive renovation and extension in 1893. The two massive neo-Gothic transept arms form a stylistic unity with the older parts of the building, so that today old and new are hardly recognizable. The first wooden predecessor church on this site most likely existed as early as the middle of the 9th century (851/853), and the first stone building in the 12th century. Particularly worth seeing inside: the processional cross (14th century), the winged altar from 1520, the Renaissance pulpit from 1588, the apostle figures (16th century).

The Bartholomew Church is rarely open outside of service times. It can be viewed from the outside at any time and walked around. The churchyard in the shade of old trees is a wonderful place of peace.
