The Orlando House at Platzl 4/4a in Munich's old town was built in 1900 according to plans by the Munich architect Max Littmann. The general contractor was Heilmann & Littmann. It is named after the composer Orlando di Lasso, whose building previously stood there. The five-storey corner building has forms of the German Renaissance inside and out. The ground floor in particular is very richly decorated. There are several restaurants and offices on the ground floor and in the basement. On the ground floor there is an open staircase and an arcade. At the rear, the building leads into the property at Falkenturmstrasse 12. The building is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list:
The house was acquired by the Messerschmitt Foundation in 1997. Source and further information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando-Haus
