The Grattacielo Rosso, the red skyscraper, was completed in 1928 after numerous detours and has been owned by Generali since 1932. The plan to build a building here in the American Art Deco style came about in 1926 through the Società anomima Aedes of the local daily newspaper «Il Piccolo». Ultimately, it was implemented in a reduced form and height of around 50 meters and 9 floors. The terrace in the central tower is considered a "window on Trieste" and is often used for Generali events.
