Hiking
The Markthal is 35 meters wide and 42.5 meters long. At its highest point, the hall is 17 meters high. The gutters are at 10 meters. Apart from a few steel junctions, the hall is made entirely of wood. And that has the great advantage that it is sustainable. Wood grows and converts CO2 into wood during that growth process. This creates a fantastic ecosystem that converts waste into a sustainable building material. Special roofing protects the hall from the elements. The solar panels supply sustainable energy to the town hall.
