The mosque looks like it was painted and is incredibly perfect. It offers space for a total of 40,000 believers in the halls and courtyard, making it one of the largest mosques in the world. The gleaming white building is surrounded by bright blue pools of water reflecting the mosque. The mosque is also worth a visit at night, because then it is illuminated in great shades of purple.
In the central prayer hall is one of the largest chandeliers in the world.
It is made of 24-carat gold, has a diameter of 10 meters, is 15 meters high and weighs around 12 tons. There is also a 5,600 square meter handmade carpet from Iran.
From Saturday to Thursday you can visit the mosque between 9.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. (last entry: 9.30 p.m.). On Friday, the mosque was only open to tourists from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Admission to the site and the mosque is free.
Guided tours are also offered.
Really worth a visit.
