"In January 1945, Mayen was almost completely destroyed by Allied bombings; the survivors had lost almost everything except their faith in God. This chapel was built that same year, testifying to a strong sense of solidarity and faith in a better future for the people."
The chapel itself is closed outside of worship, but there is seating and a table in front of the chapel.
