In 1667, Jean del Cour moved to Liège, to an imposing house in the Rue Sœurs de Hasques. Jean died on April 3, 1707. He was the last survivor of the family and left the usufruct of his property to his two cousins. After their deaths, the fortune was used to build a chapel in Hamoir.

In the middle of the Place Saint-Paul stands a monument that was made in 1911 by Paul Du Bois. It is a bust of the baroque sculptor Jean Del Cour, a great Liège artist who was born in Hamoir in 1631. Like many artists, he went to Rome to perfect his skills. In accordance with Liège tradition, he was Bernini's pupil there. When he returned to Liège, he made numerous works to order that still adorn the churches and streets of Liège. Del Cour is also said to have been approached by Vauban to make a statue of Louis XIV. The Liège sculptor is said to have refused this on the pretext of his advanced age and poor health. He died in Liège in 1707.
