Brodhausen is a district of Immekeppel in the city of Overath. The place name is a -hausen name with the personal name Brod (possibly a clan or tribal name) as a definition word.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani des Erich Philipp Ploennies, Blatt Amt Portz, shows that the place of residence already had two farmsteads in 1715, which are labeled as Brofhusen. Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his chart of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Brodhagen. It shows that the place was part of the Honellschaft Vellingen in the parish of Hohkeppel at that time.

From the Sülzbrücke a trail leads through the Bachaue to Untereschbach with wonderful views of a weir just before Untereschbach. The dam of the former Sülztal railway shields the traffic noise of the L284, so that it is very quiet here.
