Hiking

The former Pulgarn Monastery was secularized by Emperor Joseph II at the end of the 18th century. It was originally set up as a hospital at the beginning of the 14th century and later expanded to include the monastery. In the meantime, a women's monastery was also found in Pulgarn. Today it is owned by the St. Florian Monastery.

Hiking

The Pulgarn Monastery was owned by the St. Florian Monastery and was sold to the private investor group PULG Immobilien in 2020. They had it listed and renovated it.
The monastery complex and the church date from the 16th century. The monastery walls survived two world wars and a confiscation by the National Socialists.

From here you can start the hiking trail to the Hohenstein summit cross and to the Stoanan Stubm...🅿️ is available at the entrance to the monastery.
The “Memorial Trail” also runs through here and the “Donau-Höhen-Rundwanderweg” is part of the “Hohenstein-Runde”.
