The building at Schlossstrasse 3 was first mentioned in documents in 1537. It was the official residence of the rent collector until 1720. The pharmacist Friedrich Bernhard Tölcken, who had been working in Jever since 1711, acquired the house in 1720 and set up the court pharmacy in it.
