The Reichsbank acquired this property on Bauerstrasse in 1933 from the company S. Bendit & Söhne and built a new branch here. After the Second World War, the building housed the Landeszentralbank (branch of the Deutsche Bundesbank). After the closure of this Bundesbank branch, it served as an office and commercial building. The stone eagle sitting on a pillar on the street corner indicates its function as a branch of the Reichsbank.
