For me, this is currently the best connection between Buer and Dorsten if you want to avoid poor cycling infrastructure and cars. In my experience, the marked side roads have very little traffic. In combination with the Hugotrasse and Erzbahntrasse, you can get from Bochum to Dorsten or back quickly and relatively stress-free. The asphalt is not perfect and there is also a short section with fine gravel, but in my opinion everything is very easy to ride even with relatively thin tires.

Cycling

I have already ridden this route almost exactly like this and can highly recommend it. The route is both beautiful and very direct and you come out almost exactly at a bike shop (Barbarastrasse) if you need an inspection in Dorsten.
This route is also very good if you just want to relax and cycle.
