Best Hikes to Kreuzteich (Riddagshausen Nature Reserve)

Tips

  • With a size of twelve hectares, the Kreuzteich is the second largest pond in the Riddgagshäuser nature reserve after the Scharpenbruchteich. It is the habitat of numerous waterfowl, amphibians and insects. The fish pond is part of the pond system that was laid out 900 years ago around the Riddagshausen monastery. The Kreuzteich is probably Braunschweig's most popular ice skating surface when it's frozen over.
