Klosterdorf was probably founded between 1210 and 1220 by the Cistercians of the Zinnas monastery. Under her direction, master builders erected the sacred building as a complete complex in the second half of the 13th century. The rectangular west tower is also likely to date from the construction period. It takes up the width of the nave and is 6.3 m long. In the west are two mighty buttresses made of bricks, which reach up to the bell storey, between them is the arched door. After 1375 the monks withdrew from Klosterdorf, so it remained uninhabited for about 100 years. New residents were only proven in 1471, who operated a sheep farm and a monastery courtyard. In 1807 the church received its first organ. From 1985 to 1987 the parish renovated the roof and painted the interior in a way that was not true to the original.
