The saltworks settlement consisted of several saltworks houses. They were named after members of the House of Wittelsbach and bore the names Wilhelmi, Maximiliani, Ferdinandi and Alberti floors. Each "floor" had a saltworks house (for hardening the salt) on the ground floor under its roof, two salt containers above it, as well as living quarters and workshops. At the back were the wooden brewing rooms, which became redundant in 1786/87 with the construction of the Karl Theodor brewhouse. Today, the Karl Theodor car park is located where the saltworks stood until 1924. Fortunately, the saltworks houses and the old well house, where the brine pipeline once ended, have been preserved for posterity.
