If a snowshoe hike in Schmallenberg wasn't possible, then at least an icy hike in Winterberg was.



This can currently be done perfectly in the Helletal valley.



The outward route of this tour leads from the train station in Winterberg, first through the spa gardens and then on through the Helletal gorge

The circular hike begins in Schmallenberg-Grafschaft and leads to the Wilzenberg (658 m), the holy mountain of the Sauerland region.



From there, the trail continues towards the center of Schmallenberg.



The hiking trail is relatively easy and safe, except for the steep ascent to the summit.

What was planned as a snowshoe hike in the Hochsauerland region near Schmallenberg unfortunately turned into a rainy hike today, and a considerably shorter one at that. After about 6 kilometers, the planned route became impassable due to forestry work, and lacking alternatives to continue in the desired
