The stair beetles are works of art in the form of bronze dwarves, which have been placed mainly on the numerous stairs in Nordhausen. There are currently 23 stair beetles (2023).
They are bronze figures of very different shapes, measuring around 10 to 40 cm. The first stair beetles were created in 2009 based on an idea by employees of the Nordhausen Youth Social Welfare Organization.
The beetles are the visible result of civic engagement and are created by Nordhausen residents.
