The castle ruins can be hiked quickly and easily from Neustadt. It is said to have been built around 1120 and offers an impressive backdrop. It can be visited at any time and an iron staircase leads to the ruined tower, from which you have a wonderful view. There is a very good restaurant just below the castle ruins. If you want to see even more, you should continue to Poppenberg.

In the most diverse sources quite contradictory information is given at the time of origin. The one of the 10th century is referred to as a donation of the district under Henry I. so other records date the construction to the 12th or 13th century. So there is still enough material for research here - no matter, worth seeing and extremely appealing is the facility. A small economy invites you to linger.
