Matthias Zágon Hohl-Stein (born 1952 in Koblenz) is a German sculptor, painter and graphic artist.
In 1968 he did an apprenticeship as a locksmith and in 1972 began an apprenticeship as an advertising and lettering painter, in 1976 studying to become an art teacher. From 1978 he worked as a graphic designer at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam. He has been a freelancer since 1987. In 1992 he moved from his studio in Berlin-Wedding to Neuruppin-Karwe, where the artist's workshop and gallery are now located in the Alte Schäferei. Since 2009 he has had a new studio in Lichtenberg.
In 1984 he won first prize in the artist competition "Overcoming the Wall by Painting the Wall".
