In this half-timbered house, built around 1736, the wives and children of deceased clergymen in Neuruppin found new accommodations where they could stay free of charge. The building is one of the few houses that survived the great town fire of August 26, 1787. From 1787 to 1794, Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841) lived here with his mother and sister. The house was renovated in 1998 and today houses the Karl Friedrich Schinkel Society, the Ruppin Lakes Tourist Association, and also contains apartments.

It is located at Fischbänkenstraße 8 in 16816 Neuruppin.
