In 2000, a memorial was erected in front of the Kreisständehaus in Moers to honor the resistance against the Nazi tyranny. The Duisburg sculptor Hans-Jürgen Vorsatz put it together from granite slabs embedded in the ground with text and a double stele. The text begins with "The women and men of the Moers resistance against the Nazi tyranny" and continues - highly topical! - with "Let us learn from history and remain vigilant."
