The Sankt Hedwig Church is a Catholic church in Jüterbog. The patroness is Hedwig von Andechs, the patron saint of Silesia. The church is behind the house at Große Straße 86, the long side on Schulstraße. Between the rectory and the church is the Tetzel Chapel, named after the Dominican Johann Tetzel, who sold letters of indulgence in Jüterbog in 1517.Jüterbog has been a Protestant town since the Reformation. In 1852 a Catholic mission congregation was founded, which was supplied from Luckenwalde. The masses were celebrated in private homes. Little by little the number of Catholics grew. So the church was built in 1893 and was consecrated in the same year. The church was given its current appearance during renovations between 1980 and 1982.The Tetzel Chapel is located between the rectory and the church, access is from the church and was established in 1955. The chapel was built after a fire in 1478. It is a late Gothic brick building.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Hedwig_(Jüterbog)
