In honor of the city's founder, Frederick II, a monument was erected in 1864 on the central market square of Zinna Monastery. The monument was destroyed in 1949. On April 8, 1994, a replica by the sculptor Friedemann Sandner, financed by donations and created according to authentic specifications, was placed on the historical base. You can find out about this on a board on the back of the base. At the front you can read the somewhat weathered inscription: "Frederick the Great, the founder of the city in 1764.
