On a hill above the town of Starý Hrozňatov (Altkinsberg), about 5 kilometers from Cheb, is the impressive pilgrimage church of Maria Loreto. The church, whose construction began in 1664, is one of the most visited pilgrimage churches in the Czech Republic and Germany. Under the communist regime, the pilgrimage site gradually fell into disrepair, but in 1992 it was extensively renovated using donations from residents of the German town of Waldsassen. Maria Loreto has not only been restored to its former beauty, but is now also a symbol of reconciliation, a place where Germans and Czechs find each other.

A beautiful pilgrimage church. Partially restored and restored. The sanctuary was painted on the wall in keeping with the original style. The Black Madonna in the courtyard has been restored, but the surrounding chapel has only been partially restored. Surrounding the courtyard is a beautiful cloister with many paintings and statues.
