It all began at some point with monsters (lindworms), the love between Emma and Veit, the Boniface Spring, the knitting and warp-knitting industry (David the Knitter), the bell foundry, and many other interesting events or legends.
In any case, Veit defeated the lindworms and "preserved" his Emma.
Apolda, Schöten, and the other communities and villages can be explored and lingered in many ways (very well developed and signposted).
The public transport system (bus and train) is also very well developed.
The lovingly designed sculpture by Fr. Carolin Okon stands unmistakably at the northern entrance to the Schöten Promenade.
