The enclosed spring of the Apfelbach stream that rises here is remarkable.
The spring is in turn enclosed in such a way that it can be used as a water reserve in times of drinking water shortages (hopefully never). The stream in turn joins the Schötener Bach in the town center of Apolda and flows into the Ilm a few kilometers later.translated by
