The house was built in 1907 by master builder Josef Špalek for the Rozumov family based on a design by architect Ladislav Skřivánek on the site where an older house was demolished. The house also included the background area with part of the city wall. The history of the property, which Jan Rozum auctioned off in 1865 because of his debts, was rich; there are reports about it from the middle of the 16th century.
