To the left of the church is the late Gothic building of St. Catherine's Chapel. It was probably originally built in 1489 as a cemetery church with an ossuary underneath. After the Reformation, the ossuary vault was converted into a wine cellar and the chapel room into a schoolroom. A fruit store was built above the chapel, which was converted into a teacher's or deaconess's apartment in the 19th century. In 1806, the chapel's former choir fell victim to an extension of the town parish church. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the chapel room served as a kindergarten.

In 1979, town pastor Dr. Wolfgang Baunach acquired the building and bequeathed it to the parish. His family coat of arms is emblazoned above the entrance door. The restored former chapel room has a late Gothic painted cross vault, a collection of historical and modern sacred glass windows and an old pulpit from Yorkshire in England. On the outside, the artist Friedbert Andernach painted a dance of death in 2002. The gable side of the house is decorated with the image of St. Catherine, created by Markus Fuchs.

Today the former chapel room serves as a small community center. (Source: Catholic parish of Eppingen)

An artistic cast-iron memorial was built around the “Lieb Frauen” church for the excavated old tombs in the ossuary vault. Really beautifully made.

The St. Catherine's Chapel was built next to the town church in 1450. The building was secularized and served as a school for a long time, but still has a late Gothic cross vault. Since 1991, the facade of the former chapel facing the church has been decorated with a 10-meter-wide representation of a dance of death.
