A parish probably existed before 1210 in the first half of the 11th century. The church suffered damage in 1461 and 1683 and fires in 1565, 1683, 1734 and 1956. The baroque conversion with the addition of a sacristy and a Loreto chapel took place around 1711. A restoration took place in 1991/1992.
