Not bad: tens of millions for a structure on a canal that has never been economically viable.

The Erlanger lock from around 1970 will be renovated over several years from 2024. It is a completely new structure; the old lock will remain in operation until construction work is completed.

The basins serve to minimize water consumption during each lock. The lock will be renewed from 2024 after only a short period of operation.
