The so-called Kosbach Altar was discovered here in the middle of a Celtic burial mound field. While original components of the sandstone formation can be found in the City Museum of Erlangen, there is a true-to-original replica here in the forest. Nothing definitive about its function is known to this day, but the formation may have been constructed between 800 and 450 BC.
