De Rijt is a wide drainage canal to replace the natural drainage of the streams in the Dender. It runs from Idegem over Zandbergen, through the Nuchten, over Eichem to the Pollare lock. The last segment runs parallel to and very close to the Dender.
Here you walk on a narrow strip that separates the two watercourses.
