The deer pond, a former clay pit, is an artificially dammed pond in an idyllic location. The pond is fed from several small springs on the southern slope. It lies at the foot of the Kohnstein.

In winter the pond is quiet and deserted. In summer, on the other hand, there are anglers everywhere (leased waters) who are not exactly happy about walkers.
