Flehmüller's oak, also called Flhmüller's oak or simply thick oak, is around 600 to 1000 years old and is one of the oldest natural monuments in the Nordhausen district and shapes the landscape. The 21m high freestanding English oak is located on the Liethberg above Krimderode, a flat table mountain 220m high. The tree crown has a diameter of 20 m, the trunk circumference is 7.25 m. In 1935 the oak was entered in the natural monument register.
