It is significant that the Alt Oedische Malladenhaus - one of those refuges and isolation stations for community residents suffering from contagious diseases, as we also know them from the Kempen Blaatendoop (= Melatendoop) and from the Kreuzstrasse (Siechenkreuz!) near Willich, is located on the border river Schleck was pushed out.
After this rainy winter, the Schleck once again fulfills its function as a drainage ditch and is well filled. However, they are often found dried out.
