The town hall on the market square was built in the 1340s and was originally a functional building for the merchant class. In the 15th century, the core building was expanded and the building was given its current use as an administrative building. In 1618, another renovation followed, and the town hall was given an impressive stepped gable on the market side. The inscription on the coat of arms on the gable says: "Council and citizens of Gadebusch. In 1618, the town hall was rebuilt in this form." gadebusch.m-vp.de/rathaus-gadebusch
