A remarkable church for such a small place! And well restored, it is also 😊

In the historic old town of Gadebusch is the impressive town church of St. James and St. Dionysius with its royal chapel and the burial place of Agnes, Queen of Sweden and Duchess of Mecklenburg.
This church, built almost square in the 13th century, is one of the earliest brick churches in all of northwest Mecklenburg.
The late Romanesque town church of Gadebusch is one of the oldest Romanesque hall churches in northern Germany. This is why the town church is one of the most important church buildings in northern Germany and was declared a monument of national importance in 2005.mecklenburg-schwerin.de/unsere-region/staedte-und-orte/gadebusch/altstadt-von-gadebusch
