The historic train station in Gadebusch is a real adventure station.
In addition to the Station Burgsee Restaurant and various event locations, the station has a very special highlight in store. Like various politicians and athletes before you, you can spend the night in the former GDR government train. The saloon sleeping car, built in 1968, has six double sleeping compartments, a toilet and a shared shower.

The history of Gadebusch station began on October 12, 1897.
On this day, the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Friedrich-Franz Railway opened the railway line from Schwerin to Rehna via Gadebusch. This was a moving event for the residents of the region, as a connection of Gadebusch to the rail network had already failed several times in previous years. The Radegast towns welcomed the first train decorated with garlands to pass through the station with joy.
The station, with its waiting room, ticket hall and small restaurant, is one of the historically significant buildings in the small town, like the castle or the historic town hall. But ten years ago, public traffic came to an end. The empty building was in danger of falling into disrepair. In 2009, the turning point came: the station changed hands, a year later construction work began and on May 9, 2012 - after 18 months of construction - the Gadebusch station shone in new splendor.
