Wukang Road – Historic Charm in the Former French Concession One of Shanghai's most iconic streets, Wukang Road winds for 1.2 km through the heart of the former French Concession. Lined with plane trees, the street boasts more than 50 historic villas in European style—from Art Deco to Spanish and British influences. It's like walking through an open-air museum, with each building telling its own story.
Highlight: The famous Wukang Mansion (Normandie Apartments) at the southern end is a favorite spot for photographers and Instagrammers.

Probably the most famous building on Wukang Road, it is located at its southern end at the intersection with Huaihai Road. It is now a protected historic apartment building, and maybe the signature work of Hungarian-Slovak architect Laszlo Hudec, and completed in 1924. It is still in use as apartment building, with some retail on the ground floor. Its wedge shape reminds of the Flatiron Building in New York.

The building, located at the intersection of Huaihai Road and Wukang Road, was designed by Laszlo Hudec and built in 1924. Because of its triangular shape it does have a certain resemblance to the Flatiron Building in New York.
