Todays morning plan: the Erawan Museum. Easy going by BTS, two stations in a 15 minute walking distance ... but already well above 30°C before noon and need to walk along a busy major highway. No joy at all.

a little fun ... going up to Xiangshan Park on the cableway, spending a little time at the top, and then riding down on the coaster built onto the mountainside.
🇨🇳 Jiangmen: Chikan Old Town
Feels like a mix of film prop, open air museum and entertainment park… but once was a wealthy city due to the business entrepreneurial spirit of its residents that went abroad to make money.

This is a nice, but also odd, and also interesting one ... at least in my opinion: Chikan Old Town.
It is a real old town. With a real history. Becoming wealthy with many residents going overseas to work and send the money back home. And then it was turned into a tourist scenic area, completely void of

Another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kaiping Towers, blending Chinese and Western Architecture with Overseas Chinese History.

Visited Zili Village today. It hosts a cluster of the Kaiping Towers that are a UNESCO World Heritage since 2007. In the greater area of Jiangmen in the south of China are over 3000 of these towers.
The towers originate from the 19th and early 20th century. They were built as residential homes, but with

Followed Xiaohongshu recommendation to ‘instagramable’ neighborhood.

Shishan Manbu (狮山漫步), where manbu translates to ‘to wander’, or ‘at a slow pace’, is a neighborhood in Zhuhai that has been embellished with some murals and other decoration that make it very ‘instagramable’. A few restaurants, cafes and boutiques also made it here, more probably to come.

This museum is great! Interesting, informative, captivating. The entire exhibition and all displays in Chinese and English. Only the movie and the planetarium show are in Chinese only.
