Today's church was built in 1757/1758 in place of an older church. All that remains of this is an impressive baroque tombstone, which can be found today on the southern wall of the church. In 1906 the church burned down because people forgot to put out the candles. It was restored in 1907, but almost nothing could be saved from the baroque interior. She was overhauled in 1959 but is not in good condition today.

There are some very old graves in the cemetery surrounding the church.

The Church of the Assumption of Mary in Arnoltice (German Arnsdorf), a Czech community in Okres Děčín in the Ústecký kraj region, was built in 1757/58. The late baroque church was built by the master builder Johann Wenzel Kosch.
